The International Monetary Fund (IMF) team will meet the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman at Zaman Park today.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar has said that PTI’s economic team has been contacted by IMF to seek support on a standby agreement.
Hammad Azhar said that the IMF has approached the Tehreek-e-Insaf for its support for the standby agreement and its wider objectives.
Ishtar Perez, the representative of the IMF in Pakistan, said that the purpose of the meetings is to get the assurance of the support of the political parties before the elections on the standby agreement.
The representative of the IMF also said that the new standby agreement with Pakistan will be considered by the Executive Board of the IMF in the coming days.
According to Ishtar Perez, the IMF team will meet with all the major political parties, including the PML-N and the People’s Party.
